MEET OUR TEAM

Bill Nicholson is the president of Capital Insurance Affiliates. He has been with the firm since 1995 and in the financial services industry since 1988. Bill is a Chartered Financial Consultant and Certified Financial Planner specializing in business and estate planning. He graduated from UNC-CH with a BS in Business Administration. Bill is married with three children and enjoys golf, skiing & tennis. He is also a member of the National Association of Philanthropic Planners.

R.E. Rose is the vice president of Capital Insurance Affiliates. He joined the firm in 2016 and has been in the financial services industry since 1986. R.E. graduated from North Carolina State University with a BS in Mathematics. He is married with two children and enjoys golf and saltwater fishing. .

Gwen Barringer is a compliance principal for Capital Insurance Affiliates, as well as a financial advisor with Capital Investment Group. She is a Certified Financial Planner and a Chartered Financial Consultant. Her financial planning focus is on multi-generational families. Gwen joined Capital from Morgan Stanley and has been with our firm since 2005. She attended Saint Mary's College and UNC-CH back in the 1970's and is the proud grandmother of four.

Alan Long is an associate with Capital Insurance Affiliates. He has been with the firm since 2000 and in the financial services industry since 1974. Alan is a Chartered Life Underwriter and specializes in Insurance and Estate Planning. He is also past President of the Raleigh-Durham CLU Chapter. Alan attended Elon College and Wake Forest University. Alan has four daughters and sons-in-law and six grandchildren. He enjoys golf and traveling.

Allison Smith is the operations specialist for Capital Insurance Affiliates. She has been with the firm since 2003 and in the Retirement Plan Administration industry since 1991. Allison attended Harbarger College and Wake Technical Community College.

Cindy Kasner is an administrative and sales assistant for Capital Insurance Affiliates. She has been with the firm since 2001 and in the financial services industry since 1998. Cindy attended Oklahoma State University and Southwestern Oklahoma State College. She enjoys gardening and reading.
